Heat Treating Star heat treats many of the steel parts we produce; including tillage, wear plates, flighting, eyebolts, brackets, braces and supports.
Heat treatment is a method used to alter the physical, and sometimes chemical, properties of a material. The most common application is metallurgical. Heat treatment involves the use of heating or chilling, normally to extreme temperatures, to achieve a desired result such as hardening or softening of a material. Star heat treatment techniques include annealing, tempering and quenching.
Star Manufacturing has two methods of heat treating:
- Quench Press Water Heat Treating or Stationary Batch Heat Treating with part sizes from 20 lbs to 60 lbs.
- Quench and Temper Continuous Flow for parts from 2lbs to 100 lbs.
Star's heat treat capapcity consists of two automated lines, 2000 lbs per hour and 2500 lbs. per hour:
- Gas Fired
- Electric Rotary
