Heat Treating
Heat treatment is a method used to alter the physical, and sometimes chemical, properties of a material. The most common application is metallurgical. Heat treatment involves the use of heating or chilling, normally to extreme temperatures, to achieve a desired result such as hardening or softening of a material. Star heat treatment techniques include annealing, tempering and quenching.
Star Manufacturing has two methods of heat treating:
- Quench and Temper Continuous Flow Heat Treat Line for parts from 2 lbs to 100 lbs.
- Quench Press Water Heat Treating or Stationary Batch Heat Treating with part sizes from 20 lbs to 60 lbs.
Heat treat capabilities consist of 2500 lbs per hour and 4500 lbs per hour.
Star Furnaces consist of:
- Gas Fired
- Electric Rotary
